Everything was great of the 5 day katekani Lodge. A big shout out to the service with Margaret and Mandla who were wonderful with food, breakfast and hospitality. The wonderful Bush walk and conversations with Shawn were awesome. We will definitely come back.

Absolutely loved my 6 day Katekani Tour with Viva Safaris. This trip was booked pre covid and the integrity and flexibility shown by Viva through this period was excellent and much appreciated. I would highly recommend staying 6 days to maximise your game viewing opportunities plus staying at the Katekani is a must. I have reviewed this separately but this lodge is quiet, very comfortable and personal. Guest numbers at this lodge are limited which we enjoyed. All guides were excellent, friendly, funny and knowledgeable. They also tried their very best to find every animal possible for their guests. All meals were delicious and again the kitchen and service staff were excellent. Charl at Katekani needs a special mention, his service and stories of his experiences in Kruger was a highlight. Highly recommend this adventure.
Beautiful tented lodge.

Our stay at the Katekani Lodge was exceptional. The tented lodges are beautifully furnished and very spacious. Sean and his team were extremely accommodating and very welcoming.
There was always a fire going at the boma to relaxed at with a drink after the safari. We had the best time there. We highly recommend the Katekani Lodge.
Wonderful safari experience

The safari was fantastic. I absolutely loved seeing the aminals and learning about them.

The highlight for me was seeing a pride of lions sleeping after eating.

I also really loved going to the rehabilitation center. The aniamls were in enclosures but we were able to get very close to them. This place isn't a zoo. If an animal can be rehabilitated and released in to the wild, it is. Visitors are not able to see those animals so they don't get used to humans. Some animals are too severely injured to live in the wild, or they were rescued but already too used to humans so it wouldn't be safe to release them. The center provides a place for these animals to live. All the animals seemed very happy and well taken care of.

Victor was our guide in Kruger. He was absolutely incredible! I am so thankful that we got him as our guide. He was fun and informative, giving all kinds of interesting information about each animal we saw. Victor knew we wanted to see lions, so he made sure to talk to other cars and ask if they'd seen any lions around. Victor's networking worked because first thing after lunch, he drove us to some lions! I also appreciated that he gave us plenty of time to view the animals and that I didn't feel rushed at all.

Sharl from Katekani also helped to make my safari experience special. I wrote a separate review for Katekani Lodge itself, but Sharl deserves a shout out in this review as well. He talked to the guests every day and shared so many stories and fun facts. Talking with him was definitely a highlight of my whole trip!

Overall, I would definitely recommend Viva Safaris.
Unbelievable

Aaran and I had the most AMAZING experience! Once in a lifetime (well we actually hope to come back ASAP) the staff were exceptional. We felt part of the family. We really are so thankful to everyone who made our holiday so memorable. The drivers George and Sully were so professional and lovely. The safari drivers were all amazing especially Tolly and Ray. Thank you to Aaran for his amazing bbq. Thank you Pauline for our meals you are an amazing person! Thank you Ri for your insightful conversations and warming welcome.
